The first step in auditioning for TFH Natomas Worship as a musician or singer is to submit a video recording of your audition. This can be as simple as recorded through your phone, or as complex as using a recording device/computer. Whatever the case, the most important thing is that your playing/singing is easily discernable. Also, make sure the quality of the recording is acceptable (again, it should be easy to hear what you’re playing/singing). You may need to do several “takes” to get a good recording/balance.

We ask that anyone interested in being a part of the worship team complete the following pre-requisites before auditioning:

• Complete both weeks of Discover
• Become a member of TFH (happens in Discover)
• Be involved in a TFH Group (be able to provide a small-group leader reference from your current small-group leader)

Your video audition will only be considered AFTER we have record that you’ve completed your pre-requisites.
Please fill out your audition form accurately to detail your completion of these pre-requisites.

You will need to play the recording of the song through headphones or speakers so you can hear what you’re playing with/to. For example: If you’re a drummer, you can play the song through headphones and then setup your phone/device to record. If possible, having the reference song playing audibly in the recording with you is ideal, but not a requirement. If you are unable to do this, just your instrument/voice with headphones will work. The main point is that YOU can be heard clearly in the recording.

The point of this form of initial audition is to give our worship staff an initial read on your ability as a musician/vocalist. We totally understand that these recordings will be rough— so don’t worry about quality— we get it.

Choose a worship song that you like and then you will need to purchase through Apple Music or other method in order to use it in your recording.
 
-Vocals: Sing harmony and melody (submit both)
-Electric: Rhythm and lead (submit both)
-Keys: 1.) Play song as interpreted  2.) Play lead synth parts
-Drums: Play the same as the original recording
-Bass: Play the same as the original recording
-Acoustic: Play the same as the original recording (please show finger-picking and strumming with pick)


Please choose and submit only one song per instrument/vocalist.

Upload your video audition to YouTube. Make sure to set the privacy settings as “Unlisted” and title your video “Worship Audition – (Your Name)”. Once you have uploaded it, please email info@tfhnatomas.church with the subject: “Video Audition – (your name)” and put the video link in the email.

Once we have received your audition, we will review it and email you with feedback and possible next steps. FYI: we accept worship audition videos at any time, but based on our worship scheduling, we review them quarterly. We will do our best to give you a response in a timely matter.
